This resonates very closely with our core philosophy and brand intent of ‘touching lives’. We are committed to creating platforms that will provide increased opportunities to identify and hone talent and create future sports champions from India, and the HCL Inter-School Tennis Tournament is a step in that direction.

The enthusiastic participation from students and the support from schools and parents in this tournament is a sign of the potential that lies ahead and we at HCL are proud to be a part of this endeavour.”

Speaking about the initiative, Gaurav Natekar, CEO, MBTA said, “Tennis is beginning to garner a lot of attention and slowly gaining popularity in the country. Thanks to the recent Indian wins at Wimbledon, many have been inspired to take up tennis. Lack of infrastructure and lack of sponsorship has been a hurdle up till now, and the HCL-MBTA partnership plans to plug this gap. This tournament is an attempt at providing budding young players a platform that will prepare them for competitive tennis”.

Speaking on the occasion, Sandhya Sabu, Principal of Ryan International School, Vasant Kunj said, “Sports education has become an integral part of the education system. But a professional attempt to identify talent at the school level is an encouraging development. We are happy to be part of this tennis tournament, as this will give a good exposure to our kids and also boost their confidence. Our rising Tennis Star Karman Thandi has already emerged as the pride of our country. Initiatives like these give wings to a lot of children’s dream to represent their country by exposing them to the hard work and dedicated approach required to emerge as champions.”
