The Indian National Under-19 Team will be travelling to Shanghai to play a couple of international practice matches against the Chinese Under-19 National Team, who only recently were in Germany to play the Ruhr Cup.

The India Under-19 boys, presently training at the AIFF Elite Academy in Goa under head coach Colm Joseph Toal, will play their Chinese counterparts on August 17 and 19 respectively.

The exposure tour arranged by the All India Football Federation is keeping in mind the Under-19 AFC Championship qualifiers, which will be held in Doha in the first week of October. The nucleus of the squad had represented India in the Final Phase of the 2012 AFC Under-16 Championship in the Iranian capital Tehran where the Indian colts came agonisingly close to a quarterfinal berth. The top-four of the Competition eventually earned a ticket to the FIFA Under-17 World Cup.

Besides facing their Chinese U-19 counterparts, the India Under-19 boys would also be playing a match against an Under-19 Shanghai City Team. The squad leaves for Shanghai on Monday, August 5.
