Ravi Kumar, 26, was climbing down from the 8,850 metre (29,035 feet) summit and got separated from his guide near a place called Balcony on Saturday, Thupden Sherpa of the Arun Treks and Expedition company that sponsored Kumar’s team said in Kathmandu. “Three sherpa rescuers have been sent to search for Kumar,” Thupden said, adding the climber had been out of contact. A tourism department official, Gyanendra Shrestha, confirmed Kumar was out of contact....

Currently, the AIFF only conducts its coaching courses in English, a language which is spoken by close to 10-to-20 per cent of the total population. “The ‘D’ coaching license course will start in Hindi. It is very clear to us that we have to be vernacular. Hindi is the starting point. Eventually the plan is to introduce the course in more languages like a Bengalli or a a Malayalam,” Kushal Das, the AIFF general secretary, informed Goal....

The 72-year-old, also an eminent Congress leader, passed away today after being in coma since 2008, when he had suffered a stroke. “His contribution to Indian football can never be forgotten. Under him, the National Football League started in 1996 (which was rechristened I-League in 2007) and everything today is moving ahead based on the foundation he laid,” All India Football Federation (AIFF) vice-President Subrata Dutta told PTI. Dasmunsi first became the AIFF President in 1989, succeeding K Ziauddin, and held the position for 19 years....

Bajaj alleges that the AIFF is going out of their way to sabotage him and his club, and this was the latest installment in that series. He also said that Minerva were requested to rearrange their AFC Cup fixtures, in order to ensure the Kalinga Stadium was available for the AIFF’s Super Cup to be held. Now, though, Bajaj has been told by the Odisha Sports Authority that because the Kalinga Stadium is a possible venue for the 2020 FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup, it is going to undergo some renovation activities, due to which the permission granted to Minerva had been revoked....
